ROYAL MUSEUMS OF TORINO is a project that confirms Torino’s central role and its artistic, architectural and historic heritage in the international scenario: some 3 km of an exceptional tour route to relive the city’s events, from the firs Roman settlements to the Unification of Italy.
It includes the Royal Armory, the Royal Library, the Savoy Gallery, the Royal Palace, the Royal Gardens , Chiablese Palace, the Archaeological Museum with the Roman Theatre.

The Royal Armory was opened in 1837 by Carlo Alberto and the collections are displayed inside the Royal Palace, in the area to be reached via the porticos and the staircase by Benedetto Alfieri (1700s). The collections come from the arsenals of Turin and Genoa and various collectors. The series of military and civil arms from different periods by Lombard, Venetian, German, Spanish and Flemish gunsmiths is remarkable. Suits of armor and a rich oriental weapons collection (Turkish, Arab, Chinese, Persian, Indonesian) are in the Coin Cabinet.
